Melinda Griffith

As far as I can remember, I joined the Clallam County Park & Recreation District #1 Board in 1974.  My children were small and I was very interested in their learning to swim.  I have served on the Board continuously since then.  At that time the District ran and maintained the local summertime only outdoor swimming pool, located in the middle of the Sequim High School Campus.  In 1984, with the need for an indoor year 'round community facility becoming apparent, we were successful in passing a $2,436,000 bond issue to construct the multiuse recreational facility we now know as SARC.

Professionally, I am a Physical Therapist, employed by Olympic Medical Center for 26 + years.  My pastimes include my family, music, gardening, traveling, and birding.  I remain very committed to making and maintaining SARC as the premier public fitness facility in the Northwest and a source of community pride.
